Culture and Art Appropriation

The medal designed with art inspired by First Nations’ Canadian art for the Vancouver Seawall Race was made by people who were either White, Asian, etc., but were not First Nations:

I can now understand the argument about art appropriation:

Her explanation is reasonable because she points out that the art by First Nations people always conveys a story from their religion, myths, tribe and history. Also the art wouldn’t get noticed when non-indigenous people competitively produce Indigenous art.
